The short version
This site collects two things, and only because you chose to send them: your email address, if you subscribe to The Signal, and the contents of the contact form, if you use it. Nothing else is stored, there are no tracking cookies, and nothing about you is sold or shared for advertising.
A site that argues trust is infrastructure does not surveil the people reading it.
What is collected, and why
If you subscribe to The Signal, the newsletter provider stores your email address and the language you subscribed in. The language is stored so you receive the edition you asked for. That is the whole record.
If you use the contact form, your name, company, email address, inquiry type and message are sent to Gianna by email. Company is optional. Nothing from the form is written to a database, because this site does not have one.
What this site does not do
There are no advertising or tracking cookies, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta pixel, no session recording, and no cross-site profiling. Where analytics are used they are cookieless: they count pages, not people, and they cannot follow you to another site.
Email addresses are never written to server logs, in any circumstance, including when something goes wrong.
Who else handles your data
Two processors, both acting only on instruction. The newsletter provider stores subscriber addresses and sends the issues. The transactional email provider delivers contact-form messages to Gianna and stores nothing beyond its own delivery logs.
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes request metadata such as IP address for the purpose of serving pages and defending against abuse. Nothing is added to that beyond what hosting requires.
How long it is kept
Subscriber addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from the active list. Contact-form messages live in Gianna’s inbox and are kept for as long as the enquiry is live, and then deleted on the same schedule as ordinary business correspondence.
There is no archive, no backup of subscriber data held separately, and no dormant list.
Your rights
Every issue of The Signal carries a one-click unsubscribe. It removes you immediately and it does not ask you to explain yourself.
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and the answer will not be conditional on anything. Depending on where you live, the GDPR or an equivalent law may guarantee those rights; where it does, they are honoured as written rather than as narrowly as permitted.
Contact
Privacy requests go to the same place as everything else: the contact form on this site, with the inquiry type set to Other. They are handled by Gianna directly.
